We’re looking forward to meeting you and to further expanding our local network of legal professionals, attorneys, paralegals, law students, and volunteers!
Legal observers are trained and work under the direction of experienced NLG attorneys and are required to sign confidentiality agreements acknowledging the privileged nature of our work. We limit our legal observer program to those trained in the legal field (attorneys, law students, and legal professionals) to ensure high quality representation of our clients by individuals who understand and have experience working within the context of confidential attorney-client relationships.
If an interested individual does not meet our legal observer criteria, we will work to connect them with other areas of NLG’s work that they can engage in to further our mission. If you are interested in becoming a Legal Observer with the NLG, please send an email to nationallawyersguildseattle@gmail.com to express your interest.

Become an NLG memberWe do not tolerate oppression in our Chapter. Although anti-oppression has been a long-standing practice within the broader NLG, our Chapter implemented a formal anti-oppression policy.
